Boy Hits Car, Exotic Animal Petting Zoo, NineBall – Utica NY

HALLOWEEN BASH 2012

Pier’s and Blake held one of the largest Rockin’ Halloween Party that Central New York has seen! They brought in some of Central New York’s favorite bands to set the mood while you saw costumes from King Diamond to contest winner, “The One Night Stand!” Utica’s locals, Red Hush and Nine Ball kicked off the night as they had the crowd from the start. Then the national acts, Exotic Animal Petting Zoo and the one and only Boy Hits Car.

When we got there, things were in full swing as Nine Ball had just taken the stage. In true spirit of the night, the band was dressed in costumes. I really wasn’t expecting to see “Freddy Kruger” playing the bass, glove knives and all. It was really a fun set as always, and the costumes just kicked the fun up another notch. You can catch Nine Ball playing their Tool meets the Doors sound around Central New York as they are currently in support of their latest self-titled album, “NineBall.”

Up Next was Exotic Animal Petting Zoo. They have an experimental prog rock sound, that really seemed to appeal to the crowd. Throw a litte Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins and The Dillinger Escape Plan into a blender and you will get The Exotic Animal Petting Zoo. From Crown Point, Indiana, The Exotic Animal Petting Zoo released their sophomore album, “Tree Of Tongues,” in the summer 2012 on Mediaskare Records.

Headlining the night was California natives, Boy Hits Car. These guys are no stranger to the Central New York crowd. A favorite among the local radio station, KRock, they have gained an amazing central NY fan base from their numerous appearances at KRockathons – Central New York’s largest rock festival. They have a reputation of high positive energy that can lift a crowd to new heights. I have had the pleasure of seeing this band several times over the past decade and I have to say, they always bring to the table 200%. This is one of those bands that you will never forget a live show. Out in support of their latest album, Stealing Fire, stay tune for Boy Hits Car to come to a town near you!
