You know Joey Belladonna as the frontman of Anthrax, but did you know he also is in a band called Chief Big Way?

Chief Big Way performed at The Gig nightclub in The Turning Stone Casino; it was part of an after party to the Foreigner show (Foreigner played at the Event Center in the casino earlier that night.)

They performed a solid night of Rock!! Chief Big Way is a 70’s/80’s Rock cover band, playing classic tunes from Rush, Bad Company, Foreigner, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Bon Jovi, Journey, Boston, Cheap Trick, Dio, Judas Priest, Doors, Eagles, Cream, AC/DC, Queen, Rolling Stones, Van Halen and ZZ Top to name just a few.

One may wonder why Joey Belladonna, lead singer of a successful pioneer band that Anthrax is, would be in a cover band? From my experience of The Chief Big Way show – it’s about the love of music! It’s about having fun and seeing the joy it puts on people’s faces! It’s about a way Joey can play drums and sing – doing the things he loves!

It’s a fun experience when it becomes an intimate show. Fans were yelling out songs they wanted to hear, and Chief Big Way delivered!! Guitarist Joe Precourt and Bassist Dave Mickelson would go out into the crowd, playing next to those having fun dancing and next to those who weren’t moving as much, as they would nudge them to dance. Their 2 1/2 hour set was solid as they busted out hit after hit, with only a couple pauses in between songs. It truly was an excellent show!

Chief Big Way will be returning to The Gig on AUG 19 and SEP 02, 2016 They also have several other dates booked around Central New York. See tour dates listed below and also check with their Facebook page.
