Hellyeah, Escape the Fate, New Years Day and From Ashes to New – Clifton Park NY

It was National Concert Day and the Clifton Park NY crowd knew just how to celebrate – by attending Hellyeah’s “We’re All In This Together” Tour, featuring Hellyeah, Escape the Fate, New Years Day and From Ashes to New! Fist of fury were flying all night as this killer rock show took over Upstate Concert Hall.

Kicking off the night was new comers, From Ashes To New. Hailing from Lancaster, PA – they bring their hard hitting riffs to the stage and got the crowd pumped for the night of rock! Mixing in Hip Hop vocals with clean vocals to their Hard Rock sounds, adding in some Synth elements and you have Ashes To New! They are in the vein of Hollywood Undead, Linkin Park and Pillar, but owning an unique sound – worthy of individual respect.

Ashes to new is : Matt Brandyberry (Vocals/ Guitar/Keys/Programming), Chris Musser (Vocals), Branden “Boo” Kreider (Guitar/Vocals), Lance Dowdle (Guitar) and Tim D’Onofrio (Drums)

Ashes to New is currently out in support of their debut album, “Day One.” After this tour with Hellyeah, they will be jumping on the Van Warped Tour this summer.

Second up was New Years Day. The Anaheim, CA rock band once again takes us on a ride. This young gothic rock band or rather “Haunted Mansion Core” has a heavy yet catchy metalcore vibe. Their vocalist, Ash Costello reminds me of a young Maria Brink, as she’s making her own way in the music scene. They bring fun “haunting” energy to the stage, which you can see why they have a big following.

New Years Day is out in support of their latest album “MALEVOLENCE.” Watch out for the charismatic vocals of Ash Costello, ripping guitars of Nikki Misery and Jeremy Valentyne, solid bass lines of Brandon Wolfe and the thunder behind it all, Trixx on drums, as they continue to tour including several European dates this summer.

Direct support was Eleven Seven label mate – Escape The Fate! Their heavy-hitting, dynamic live show leave you wanting more. They came out hitting hard, and left no stone unturned. Playing a range of songs, their set list included songs written from over the past decade, focusing on the latest studio release “Hate Me.” Their post-hardcore sound packs a punch that you can’t help but take notice. Escape the Fate is Robert Ortiz on drums, Craig Mabbitt on lead vocals, Thomas “TJ” Bell on rhythm guitar and bass guitar and Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft on lead guitar, bass guitar and keyboards.

Escape The Fate will be looking to hit the European Festival show this summer, including the download festival. They return to North America for Rock Fest in Cadott WI July 15th and Heavy Montreal in Montreal Quebec August 6, 2016. For the latest dates and news, be sure to clink on their link below.

Headlining the night was the mighty, Hellyeah. They came out to “Sangre por Sangre” (Blood for Blood). The energy was through the roof from start to finish, except when they broke things down for an acoustic version of “Hush.”

Before their last album, Hellyeah made some changes. Not only did they lose/gain new band members (Christian Brady replaced Greg Tribbett on guitar, Kyle Sanders (Bloodsimple) replaced Bob Zilla on bass), but they also changed their image and views as well. When they originally hit the scene in 2007 – Hellyeah was more of a side project that was all about being a party band and having fun. Since 2013 – Hellyeah has taken on a strong solid approach of being a more serious band – lyrics wise as well as musically. The earlier music did have structure, but they have tightened up their sound and in 2013 released “Blood For Blood.” Why do I write about this in my review – because most of their set list incorporated songs off that album – “Moth,” “Demons In The Dirt,” “Gift,” “Cross to Bier (Cradle of Bones)” and the powerful “Say When” where Vinnie Paul really shows off his drumming skills! Incorporating so many of their newer, more serious music made for a solid night of rock! Old fans

never fear – they did bring back a few old favorites including “Wouldn’t Know” “War In Me” and “HellYeah.”and also played their new song, “Human” which makes the anticipation of the new album just that much stronger.

Hellyeah is gearing up to release their fifth studio album, “UNDEN!ABLE” on June 3, 2016 via Eleven Seven Music. They launched a pledge music campaign, where you can pre-order the album as well as get some other cool incentives for your donation. In addition, Hellyeah will be releasing a concert DVD called “We’re All In This Together” which was shot in Australia last year. You can see a preview of the DVD here.

The tour continues on across North America and wraps up June 5, 2016 in Las Vegas NV.  HellYeah will then joining In This Moment, for their Hellpop tour in North America.
