The Bacon Brothers @ Chevy Court – NYS Fair

What do you get when you mix a bit of Country to a bit Rock n Roll, tossing in some Folk and some Soul?… Why you get The Bacon Brothers!

People came from far and wide to see The Bacon Brothers performing a free show in Chevy Court at the New York State Fair. Their music has multiple layers of styles, that mesh into something very unique. They played a variety of songs off their albums, including their latest release, “36 Cents” that is due to hit stores September 16, 2014. And you can’t forget about their surprise cover of Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose.” Who would of thought back in 1984 that “Ren McCormack” would be performing that song to a pack Central New York crowd.

Yes, I did say Ren McCormick! This rockin’ duo features the reknown actor, Kevin Bacon who starred in “Footloose,” as well as “Apollo 13”, “Mystic River” and currently the tv series “The Following to name a few. Kevin with his older brother Michael Bacon came together back in 1994 for a charity event in their hometown, Philadelphia and the rest is history. Michael Bacon also works in the movie/tv industry as a composer. Michael has written an extensive list of scores for movies and television that includes the score for the Academy Award-Winning documentary, “A Time for Justice.”

As of today, I couldn’t find any more dates listed for The Bacon Brothers, but be sure this isn’t the last you have seen/heard from them. They just finished up a round of summer dates and I’m sure they will be back again before we know it.
