Halloween Special Feature – ROB ZOMBIE

What would Halloween be without playing “Dragula,” “Demon Speeding” “Living Dead Girl,” “Jesus Frankenstein,” “Werewolf Women Of The SS” or pretty much any song Rob Zombie has done. Not to mention all the great horror films he’s directed — “House of 1,000 Corpses,” “The Devil’s Rejects,” his remake of “Halloween” and “Halloween II,” and don’t forget his animated film “The Haunted World of El Superbeast” from his comic book. All those movies are great to watch, especially this time of the year.

Rob Zombie is at it again, he is gearing up to start shooting his next movie, “The Lords Of Salem.” It appears that Rob is looking to make a supernatural thriller that will draw you in, make you believe that it’s real and leave you with nightmares like “The Shinning” or “‘The Exorcist’” did. The cast is shaping up to be a tight crew that will scare the pants off you.

According to Shock Till You Drop’s film database, here is the synopsis of the film:

THE LORDS OF SALEM SYNOPSIS
“ Heidi, a blond rock chick, DJs at a local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the “Big H Radio Team.”

A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, a gift of the Lords. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lord’s record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.

Later, Whitey plays the Lord’s record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with his listeners.

The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon, Heidi and her cohorts are far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting. The original Lords or Salem are returning and they’re out for blood.”

Hmmm… So is the record really the witches’ spell and after the 666th time it’s said/played, the witches will rise again from hell and claim revenge on their old town of Salem, MA? I guess time will tell if that’s the plot. Filming of the movie is scheduled to start tomorrow October 17, 2011 and is looking to be released in 2012. You can see some great photos of the pre-production plus the latest information about the film on Rob Zombie’s Facebook page.

Meanwhile, if your in the Hollywood California area, don’t forget to check out the House of 1,000 Corpse maze  at Universal Studios’s annual Halloween Horror Nights. The other haunted mazes include Alice Coopers, “Alice’s Nightmare,” Eli Roth’s “Hostel: The Hunting Season,” “The Thing: Assimilation,” “The Wolfman: The Curse of Talbot Hall” and “La Llorona: Villa de Almas Perdidas, as imagined by Diego Luna.” Such great Halloween Fun!
