Aaron Lewis @ The Turning Stone Casino

Aaron Lewis, lead vocalist of Staind, once again hit the road with his solo, acoustic tour. Musician Photo Journal caught Aaron on his annual stop at the Turning Stone Casino in Vernon, NY. Playing two sold out shows, it was definitely the hottest place to be in central NY.

What makes Aaron Lewis’s solo show so popular? Besides getting to hear the songs as they were most likely written on an acoustic guitar, but I think part of the draw is Aaron’s humor and interaction with the crowd. He really engages the crowd, making it seem more like a bunch of friends hanging out, playing/singing music while telling stories behind the songs. Of course you get the occasional friendly heckles from both the crowd and the stage about the NY/MA sports teams, (Aaron is a Boston Red Sox fan, playing to a sea of fans wearing their NY Yankee’s hats), which seems more like good friends breaking balls. There is no doubt that an Aaron Lewis solo show is up close and personal.
